About Us

Conley Herps, Inc. was created in 2003 as a result of my life-long passion for reptiles. My name is Anthony LeCompte, and my earliest memories are of staring endlessly at pictures of snakes in books and magazines. Completely absorbed by my curiosity for those things scaly, I read everything that I could get my hands on.  It wasn't until my tenth birthday that I was allowed to own my first snake.  I looked at it as a tremendous victory, the jumping of my first hurdle in life if you will.  My great prize was a ribbon snake that got all of my attention.  I was hooked! Over the next decade I acquired close to 100 snakes of various species.  In 1999, I met my future wife Becca when we both worked at the same hotel.  Becca not only put up with my herp life style, but she actually enjoyed learning and working with my animals.  How great it is to find someone who actually shares my joy of keeping and breeding snakes.  With her help, I have stream-lined Conley Herps.  We currently focus on the husbandry and breeding of our two favorite species, the Colombian boa (Boa constrictor imperator), and what seems to be everyone's favorite species, the Ball python (Python regius).  Looking to the future, we will remain focused on these two species, but are adding different species every year.
